Abstract

This research aims to analyze the dynamics of social interaction and empathy for non-special needs students in inclusive schools. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collected through a process of observation interviews and documentation for 3 months. After that the data was analyzed through data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The triangulation technique of sources and methods used to ensure the validity of this research data shows that Tumbuh 4 Yogyakarta Elementary School is an inclusive school based on the philosophy of inclusive education. non-special needs students at Tumbuh 4 Yogyakarta Elementary School have demonstrated social interaction and empathy for autistic students as shown in communication between non-special needs students and autistic students, social contact with autistic students, good cooperation with autistic students both in outside and inside activities. class, non-special needs students can understand the feelings and conditions of autistic students, can help each other without orders from others, can become peer mentors for autistic students, and are sensitive to the signals and expressions shown by autistic students
