Abstract

This research aims to determine the social inclusion-based library programs in Bukit Village, how the social inclusion-based library programs affect the quality of community welfare in Bukit Village, and to identify the constraints and solutions in implementing library programs towards community welfare in Bukit Village, Karangasem Regency, Bali. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling technique. Furthermore, data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The credibility of the data is ensured through triangulation for validity testing. The findings of the research show: (1) There are three social inclusion-based library programs in the Bukit Village Library, namely, increasing reading interest, enhancing learning capacity, and developing community potential and skills. These programs not only provide access to knowledge and information but also improve the quality of life and welfare of the community. (2) In implementing library programs, the Bukit Village Library applies strategic steps such as program socialization to the community, providing relevant collections, advocacy, and making the library a center for community activities. The resulting impacts include increased income, improved family health, and family economic investment. (3) Challenges faced include low community awareness, limited service hours, and budget constraints. However, these challenges can be overcome through efforts in socialization, service adjustments, thorough planning, and allocation of contingency funds.
