Abstract

The Special Region of Yogyakarta is an area that experiences accelerated economic growth every year. The quality of human resources, population, land area, natural resources, level of technology used and other variables are all factors that influence economic growth in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The aim of this research is to analyze how the economic growth of the Special Region of Yogyakarta is influenced by the Human Development Index components which are then detailed into several variables such as education, health and welfare as measured by per capita expenditure. This research is interesting because other factors that trigger economic growth, such as tourism, natural resources and others, are very dependent on the quality of human resources. This research uses panel data regression analysis with the Common Effect Model using secondary data for the time period 2013 to 2022. Based on the findings in this research, during this period, the education variable has a positive and significant effect on economic growth. Meanwhile, health variables and per capita expenditure have a negative and significant effect on economic growth.
