Abstract
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is one of the main sources for spurring economic growth in developing countries, including countries belonging to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). FDI not only provides the necessary capital injection, but also brings technological innovation, management, and the all-important international market access. However, the influx of FDI is inseparable from various determinant factors, which if not managed properly, can negatively affect the economic and social stability of the recipient country. This study aims to identify and analyse the factors affecting FDI inflows in 15 OIC countries in the period 2010- 2022. Using panel data analysis method with Random Effect model, this study found that Gross Domestic Product (GDP), exports, inflation, Human Development Index (HDI), and Corruption Perception Index (CPI) have significant influence on FDI flows. The results show that GDP and HDI have a positive and significant effect on FDI, while inflation has a significant negative effect. The Corruption Perception Index also has a significant positive effect on FDI, signalling that countries with low levels of corruption tend to be more attractive to foreign investors. This research provides important insights for policymakers to create a conducive investment environment to increase FDI flows and promote sustainable economic development in OIC countries
