Meanwhile, written secondary data are obtained from various other sources to complement research needs. This research was conducted in Sinduadi Village, Sleman Yogyakarta, which was determined using a random technique. This study found that the practice of determining children's religious identity in interfaith families in Sinduadi Village has four patterns, namely the dominant religious pattern, the pattern of mutual agreement, the pattern of supporting spiritual exploration, and the pattern of delaying decisions. The factors are divided into two, namely internal and external. Internal factors are religious education, dominant motherhood factors, child maturity factors, and financial freedom. External is a factor of influence of the social environment and factors of influence of the family's father/mother. While the pattern of determining the child's identity in Islam is that the child follows his father's religion if his father is a Muslim or his mother's religion if his father is not Muslim, and the pattern of determining the child's religious identity in Positive law is based on Law Number 39 of 1999 concerning Human Rights (Human Rights Law) and Article 28E paragraphs (1) and (2) of the 1945 Basic Law. This right is universal, and perpetual, and must be respected and protected by all parties without exception. then in the Child Protection Law, especially Article 6, which affirms the right of children to worship, think, and express according to their level of intelligence and age. then in Article 42 paragraph (2) of the Child Protection Law affirmed the principle that children will follow the religion of one of the parents or guardians until they reach the age at which they can make their own decisions.
