Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of stock selection skill, market timing ability, and fund age on the performance of Islamic stock mutual funds through fund cash flow as an intervening variable. The population of this study is Islamic stock mutual funds registered with the OJK during the years 2018-2022, totaling 36 mutual funds. Sample selection using purposive sampling technique obtained 7 Islamic stock mutual funds that meet the criteria. The data analysis method used the assistance of STATA 17 software. Based on the results of data analysis and hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that stock selection skill and fund cash flow affect the performance of Islamic stock mutual funds, while market timing ability and fund age do not affect the performance of Islamic stock mutual funds. Stock selection skill and fund age influence fund cash flow, while market timing ability does not affect fund cash flow. Stock selection skill and fund age affect the performance of Islamic stock mutual funds through fund cash flow as an intervening variable, while market timing ability does not affect the performance of Islamic stock mutual funds through fund cash flow as an intervening variable.
