Abstract

Happiness is defined as all feelings that assume that life is going smoothly, happiness is a positive feeling. The happiness of getting married is everyone's dream, but nowadays there are many cases of early marriage, whether it is due to promiscuity or their own desires. This research aims to find out what the meaning of happiness is in early marriages. This research involved 3 early marriage couples and 3 significant others. The type of research used in this research is qualitative, with the research approach used in this research being a phenomenological approach. This research focuses on finding the meaning of happiness in early marriages. The subjects used in this research were divided into 2, namely core informants and supporting informants. The informant criteria were: 1) They were married couples who were married early for at least 1 year, 2) Domiciled or residing in Sewon sub-district, Bantul Regency. The data analysis technique in this research refers to the three stages of Miles & Huberman in Rujianto (2020), namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results obtained in this research are that happiness in early marriage can occur because couples trust each other and carry out their respective roles well (as a wife, husband and parent to their children), communicating with each other. Happiness increases because of children, quality time Gathering together also adds happiness to the family. Motivated to have a happy family so that they always get along well, understand each other, and have increasingly closer relationships.
