Abstract

This research aims to: 1) analyze the scope of national values described in the Islamic Religious Education and Characteristics textbook for class VII middle school; 2) know the implementation of national values at SMPN 5 Kota Bima; 3) identify the implications of national values in the Islamic Religious Education and Characteristics textbook for class VII middle school on the attitudes of students at SMPN 5 Kota Bima. The type of research used is qualitative using two research designs, namely library research and field research. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are: 1) content analysis and discourse analysis, 2) data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Testing the validity of the data in this study used triangulation of sources, techniques and time. The results of this research show that: 1) The coverage of national values in the textbook for Islamic Religious Education and Character for Middle School Class VII is described in visual and verbal form. The presentation is in visual form in the form of pictures and concept maps displayed in each chapter for students to observe and understand, who can then comment and provide responses according to the material in each chapter. Meanwhile, in verbal form in the form of materials explained through text, words or sentences that describe national values, 2) Implementation of national values at SMPN 5 Kota Bima is realized in the form of activities such as singing the national anthem, respecting differences beliefs, implementing "IMTAQ" guidance through religious practices, holding a flag ceremony every Monday, holding scout extracurricular activities, commemorating national days, carrying out democratic elections for student council presidents and class leaders, commemorating Mulid Nabi and Isra' Mi'raj and holding regular mutual cooperation activities. 3) The implications of national values in the Islamic Religious Education and Character Education textbook for Class VII Middle School on the attitudes and behavior of students at SMPN 5 Bima City are able to strengthen the value of religiosity, foster an attitude of tolerance, form an attitude of upholding the value of justice, foster a spirit of mutual cooperation , and maintaining the value of harmony and a democratic cultural climate within students in the school environment.
