Abstract

This research aims to determine the principal's strategy in implementing the independent curriculum at RA DWP UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This research is based on the phenomenon of using the independent curriculum, which is a new curriculum in Indonesia. Highlights the processes and strategies carried out by the principal at RA DWP UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in implementing the independent curriculum. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, where the researcher describes the findings obtained from observations in the field and then puts them into a thesis. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and document and documentation review. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Checking the validity of the data uses triangulation of sources and techniques. The research results show that 1) The principal's strategy in implementing the independent curriculum at RA DWP UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta is; (a) Maximizing Human Resources (b) Maximizing School Environmental Facilities (c) Learning Media Program Extension, and (d) Creative Learning Media Seminars to support and broaden the insight of teachers at RA DWP UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. 2) The reasons for implementing the independent curriculum at RA DWP UIN Sunan Kalijaga are (a) to make RA the best, (b) RA DWP graduates are able to dare to compete with other RA institutions; (c) Ready to face challenges, have mature readiness. 3) The implications of implementing the independent curriculum at RA DWP UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta are: (a) Achievement has improved (b) Public trust has increased and (c) Good cooperation between RA DWP UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has expanded and increased.
