Abstract

This study aims to: 1) examine student management 2) analyze coaching and student development in mastering 21st century skills. 3) describe the supporting and inhibiting factors of coaching and student development in mastering 21st century skills at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok Yogyakarta. Qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews consisting of eight informants, and documentation. Data processing and analysis were carried out by means of data reduction, data exposure, and conclusion drawing. To test the validity of the data, triangulation of sources and techniques was applied. The results of this study indicate that 1) student management at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok Yogyakarta runs well from admission to graduation of alumni, seen from conducive and structured activities. 2) student coaching and development through planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising, which integrates 21st century skills in intracurricular and extracurricular activities. Student development is carried out in intracurricular activities consisting of digital, creative, and Qur'an classes. Furthermore, student development is organized in three activities, namely: first, the Pancasila student profile strengthening project to deepen intracurricular learning materials with the themes of entrepreneurship, global climate change, bhineka tunggal ika, fostering faith and piety. Second, co-curricular activities such as the Muhammadiyah Student Association, state defense education, mugadeta platinum robotic, achievement motivation training, outbound & study tour, field study, and mugadeta fast response. Third, mandatory extracurricular activities, such as hizbul wathan and tapak suci, as well as elective programs, such as arts (culinary, dance, guitar, English club, graphic design, photography & cinematography, calligraphy), and sports (volleyball, basketball, football, badminton). Thus, the coaching and development of students had a positive impact through sister schools Malaysia and Thailand, partnership school leadership training and innovation in teaching digital learning STEM Singapore, which resulted in national and international achievements. 3) Internal supporting factors include strong leadership, teaching staff collaboration, and adequate facilities such as classrooms and technology equipment (internet, wifi, smart TV, projector). External factors include support from the foundation, the community, cooperation from outside agencies, and parental participation. The inhibiting factors include neglected monitoring, irregular trainer schedules, limited field infrastructure, and the incorporated school environment.
