Abstract

Research on the development of quantitative analysis methods using FTIR spectroscopy and chemometrics to calculate C-Organic and N-Total levels in peat soil has been carried out. This research aims to develop, validate and apply FTIR spectroscopy with a chemometric approach for multicomponent analysis of C-Organic and N-Total levels. This research uses a model Partial Least Square (PLS) to see the quantitative relationship between multicomponent data from the FTIR spectrum and known levels of C-Organic and N-Total. The analytical method was validated with test samples to obtain good normal spectrum data. The results of this research show that predictive models can be an alternative multicomponent analysis method in determining C-Organic and N-Total levels in peat soil.The results of the validation of the analytical method obtained in this study were the results of the accuracy test (%recovery) for C-Organic and N-Total 109% and 102% respectively. Meanwhile, the precision test (%RSD) for C-Organic and N-Total is 0.986% and 4.584%. The results obtained meet the requirements as a good model. Based on the results of this evaluation, usage The FTIR method with a chemometric approach has potential as a soil quality analysis method, but the accuracy of the model still needs to be improved.
