Abstract

The retail sector and stalls/shops are the backbone of the local and global economy. It is known that retail sales in Indonesia increased by 9.3 percent yearon- year in March 2024, a sharp increase from the 6.4 percent increase in the previous month. However, stall and shop owners often face challenges in managing stock, recording sales and organizing purchases efficiently, where the manual processes used are prone to human error and can cause financial losses. As a solution, inventory management system service provider businesses emerged to help stall and shop owners manage stock, sales data and purchases automatically with real-time stock tracking features and informative reports. This project aims to assess the feasibility of developing such a system from an industrial, market, management and technical perspective, as well as analyzing the challenges, risks and opportunities that may arise. By implementing a Progressive Web Apps (PWA) based system, it is hoped that stall and shop owners can increase operational efficiency and business competitiveness in this digital era. This research is expected to provide an in-depth understanding of the business planning of inventory management system service providers and a positive contribution to the development of the business ecosystem in the retail sector.
