Abstract

The presence of 3D printing technology is a new breakthrough in the field of manufacturing. 3D printing is one of the machines owned by the Industrial Engineering Laboratory of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This machine is often used to make a prototype of a product. The problem that occurs is that the dimensions of the printout are not in accordance with the initial design previously made in the CAD application. This research uses an experimental design approach, where one of the methods that can be used is the Taguchi method. It was found that controllable parameters that affect the printing result, especially dimensional accuracy, are layer height, print speed, and nozzle temperaturee. These parameters become factors in the experiments that will be carried out using 3 factors and 3 levels. Based on the degrees of freedom and the OA matrix, the experiments that must be carried out are 9 experiments. The results of the experiments show that the combination of parameters to obtain optimal dimensional accuracy is layer height 0.15 mm; print speed 65 mm/s; and nozzle temperaturee 210˚C, with the most influential parameter being layer height with a contribution of 53.89%.
