Abstract

This research aims to determine the best machining method/results using CNC Plasma Cutting Orion, on 0.5 mm Steel Plate material. The research method used is experimental research. The data analysis technique used is the Taguchi method. The application of the Taguchi method uses 4 factors that can be controlled, namely current strength, torch distance, air pressure and free rate. Based on Taguchi's analysis, each factor has different parameters from the results of Taguchi's analysis which was carried out using the L8^4 Orthogonal Array, which in the experiments carried out resulted in an optimal process on the CNC Plasma Cutting Orion machine at a torch distance of 3 mm, current strength of 20 Ampere feed rate 1800 rot/second and air pressure 60 PSI
