Abstract

Regional Innovation is all forms of renewal in the administration of local government. Regional innovation is essentially aimed at improving the performance of local government. In Gunungkidul Regency, the implementation of regional innovation has not been fully implemented properly. The author found several problems that became a reference for research, namely: the majority of Gunungkidul people do not know about Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Regional Innovation, the poverty rate in Gunungkidul Regency is still relatively high, reaching 15.86%, and the number of damaged roads. This research is field research. Field research is research carried out to obtain primary data by directly knowing the implementation of the Gunungkidul Regency Regional Regulation on the Implementation of Regional Innovation and knowing the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of the Regional Regulation. The nature of this research is descriptive analytic, which is research that produces a picture by describing the conditional facts of an event. Data obtained through interviews in this study were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis, namely by means of data obtained from interviews with informants described thoroughly. From the results of the research, it can be described that in Gunungkidul Regency, from year to year, regional innovation in Gunungkidul Regency has increased, where last year it was 72%, this year it reached 81%. However, in reality, there are still many people who do not understand the Regional Regulation of Gunungkidul Regency Number 6 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Regional Innovation. The source of funds used for organizing regional innovations is insufficient. This resulted in many innovations that did not go according to plan. For this reason, some things that must be considered are: awareness of innovation, budget allocation for innovation activities, special assistance from related agencies, and training to form innovative and quality human resources.
