Abstract

Economic growth is an important measure of a country's economic performance. Trade agreements, net exports, investment and exchange rates are some of the factors that influence economic growth. This study aims to analyze the impact of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) and the influence of related variables (net exports, investment and exchange rates) on the economic growth of ASEAN-5 countries. The research data used is secondary data with a period of 2000-2020 sourced from the World Bank, UN Comtrade and ASEAN Main Portal. The data analysis technique uses panel data regression with the selected model, namely the Fixed Effect Model. The results of this study indicate that ACFTA has a negative effect on the economic growth of ASEAN-5 countries. Investment and exchange rates have a positive effect on ASEAN-5 economic growth. While net exports have no effect on the economic growth of ASEAN-5 countries.
