Abstract

Looking at the footballers’ terrible attitude, Aksara Salam Institute Soccer School manages to provide an Islamic value based curriculum. A soccer school is an ideal training place for children to instil distinguished character and deeds through Islam-education approach. The research was meant to figure out the Islamic values to be instilled in the school, the management of the values’ internalization, and how the spiritual attitude teaching is integrated into the curriculum of the school. This field research applied qualitative descriptive analysis. The data collected through observation, interview, and documentation technique were analyzed using data condensation and were validated by source triangulation before conclusion was drawn. The results show as follows. (1) The Islamic values inserted into the curriculum of Aksara Salam Institute Soccer School comprise faith and devotion to Allah SWT, good deeds, honesty, hard work, discipline, trustworthy, tolerable, persistence, cooperation, racing for the best person and leader. (2) The Islamic values internalization management of the school applied POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) management functions while preparing the curriculum. Structured management approach was employed by the Institute as they designed the curriculum. (3) The integration of coaching spiritual attitude in the school’s curriculum takes holistic approach under Islamic value basis. It is the verses from the Holy Koran that helped the school build the holistic character of the students. Breaking down the basic competence, practice materials, and target, the curriculum aimed at developing the students’ the aspects of physical, technical, social, and emotional. The school also applied innate-based education in its curriculum.
