Abstract

This research examines the factors influencing the financial stability of Shariah and conventional banks in Indonesia. A sound financial stability is crucial for fostering trust among various stakeholders. Employing quantitative methods and panel data regression analysis, the study observes the financial stability of 11 Shariah banks and 11 conventional banks in Indonesia over the period 2017-2022 (totaling 528 data points). The study includes variables such as credit risk, liquidity risk, and macroeconomic variables. The findings reveal that, based on t-test results, Shariah banks are susceptible to credit and liquidity risks (NPF and LTA), whereas conventional banks are vulnerable to credit or financing risks and macroeconomic risks (NPL and exchange rate).
