Abstract

The creation of a married couple is for peace, love, and mutual love between the two. As for achieving these goals, the importance of physical, psychological, and mental readiness for those who want a marriage is emphasized, commonly referred to as maturity. In a marriage, it is not uncommon for the goals to be achieved not in accordance with what is expected by both parties if the control is held by people who are not ready to build a household. The high number of main factors causing divorce due to disputes and quarrels, as well as the family development index that has not reached the target, shows that there is still a lack of maturity of married couples. This study aims to determine the role of maturity in efforts to form a sakinah family. The type of research used in this research is descriptive-analytic library research. The approach used in this research is the sociology approach of Islamic law with data collection techniques using the literature study method. The data analysis used is data reduction analysis, data presentation, data interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The theory used in this research is the theory of legal sociology. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, two conclusions can be noted. First, the relevance of the role of maturity of married couples through emotional maturity, responsibility, and the ability to socialize in community life and build relationships with others can be used as a solution as an effort to form a sakinah family. Second, the sociological analysis of Islamic law on the role of maturity in creating a sakinah family can be seen from the role of maturity as a pattern of community behavior that mutually influences Islamic law. So based on this analysis, the elements of the role of maturity are in accordance with the sociological approach of Islamic law.
