Abstract

This study aims to find out the strategies implemented by the Kawedanan Widyabudaya Library in strengthening its position as a provider of historical sources, the constraints of the Kawedanan Widyabudaya Library in strengthening its position as a provider of historical sources, as well as the aims and objectives of implementing the strategy chosen by the Kawedanan Widyabudaya Library in strengthening its position as a provider of historical sources. This type of research is field research with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection methods used are observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The stages of data analysis consist of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data testing by increasing persistence, triangulation, and checking members. The results of this study indicate that there are strategies in the form of conservation of collections in general, conservation of collections by digitization, transliteration and language, inter-agency cooperation, promotion through websites, and Javanese script legiyatan. From the strategy that has encountered obstacles, namely limited library space, lack of experts, asking for a budget, and low electricity. The future strategy is to revive the Kapujanggan group, return ancient manuscripts, collect libraries at the palace, decorate and add space, promote with activities, and modernize the library. The aims and objectives of implementing current and future strategies, namely maintaining collections of materials, developing libraries as a vehicle for sharing knowledge, fostering a culture of reading and writing, introducing the palace closer, and providing assistance to researchers
