Abstract

This research is entitled "Evaluation of Spatial Suitability of Widya Mandhala Pustaka SMK N 1 Bantul Library Based on National Library Spatial Guidelines in 2015”. The purpose of this study is to determine the suitability of Widya Mandhala Pustaka Library Spatial Planning of SMK N 1 Bantul based on School Library Spatial Guidelines issued National Library of Indonesia in 2015. This research includes qualitative descriptive research using data collection methods in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. This study refers to the 2015 National Library of Indonesia Spatial Planning Guidebook on location, area, and area indicators. Test the validity of the data using technical triangulation and observation extension. Of the 28 components that have been analyzed, a total of 24 components are appropriate and 4 components are not in accordance with National Library's Spatial Guidelines. Things that are not in accordance with the 2015 National Library of Indonesia Spatial Guidelines lie in the collection area indicators, including the height of the shelves, the distance between the shelves, the bottom of the shelves does not have legs, and sufficient space in front of the shelves. Of all the indicators that show more in accordance with the 2015 National Library of Indonesia Spatial Guidelines, namely on the indicators of location, area, reading area and access to information, and service area. Thus the results of the research that the researchers conducted stated that the spatial layout of the Widya Mandhala Pustaka SMK N 1 Bantul category of location, area and area can be said to be in accordance with the National Library of Indonesia Spatial Guidelines for 2015. Suggestions from researchers to the Widya Mandhala Pustaka SMK N 1 Library Bantul, namely the need to pay more attention to the collection area, especially to the shelf components, where there are still a number of things that are not in accordance with National Library of Indonesia's 2015 spatial guidelines.
