Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the Yogyakarta City Library's Online Children's Storytelling program (STARLA) conducted by the Yogyakarta City Library and to determine the utilization of the Yogyakarta City Library's Online Children's Storytelling (STARLA) service by the people of Yogyakarta in an effort to increase children's interest in reading. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. Methods of data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, for data analysis using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. To test the validity of the data, researchers used source and technical triangulation techniques, used reference materials, and conducted member checks. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the STARLA service carried out by the Yogyakarta City Library goes through eight stages, namely (1) determining the theme, concept, and storybook, (2) determining the time and place to take the video, (3) recording sound and taking the video. , (4) video editing, (5) reviewing, (6) making a video teaser, (7) uploading the STARLA video on the Yogyakarta City Library's YouTube channel, and (8) finally conducting an evaluation. Then the use of STARLA services by the people of Yogyakarta City as an effort to increase children's interest in reading is (1) informants access STARLA using smartphones and laptops with parental monitoring, (2) the length of time needed to access STARLA services is an average of 10-30 minutes by watching 2-4 STARLA videos, (3) after watching several times, the informants felt happy, entertained, and more eager to read books and even wanted to visit the Yogyakarta City library in person to borrow books.
