Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of mental health literacy, the information searching behavior for mental disorder prevention, the influence of mental health literacy on the information searching behavior for mental disorder prevention, and the extent of the influence of mental health literacy on the information searching behavior for mental disorder prevention among students of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The research methods employed are descriptive quantitative and associative. The variables in this study are the mental health literacy variable (X) and the information searching behavior for mental disorder prevention (Y). The population consists of students from the 2020 class of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, totaling 383. Meanwhile, the sample size is 79, taken using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data collection techniques include interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Data analysis involves the Mean formula, Grand Mean, Product Moment Correlations, and simple linear regression analysis.The research findings indicate that: first, the grand mean value of the level of mental health literacy among students of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences at UIN Sunan Kalijaga is 3.08, which can be considered good. Second, the grand mean value of information searching behavior for mental disorder prevention among students of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences at UIN Sunan Kalijaga is 3.15, which can be considered good. Third, mental health literacy has an effect on the behavior of searching information on the prevention of mental disorders. The regression coefficient value for the behavior of searching information on the prevention of mental disorders is 0.505, which means that if the mental health literacy variable increases by 1%, there will be a corresponding increase of 0.505 in the information searching behavior for mental disorder prevention. Fourth, the extent of the influence of mental health literacy on the information searching behavior for mental disorder prevention is 17.5%. Meanwhile, the remaining 82.5% is influenced by other factors not discussed in this study. Researchers suggest that students can maintain mental health literacy skills, especially in the wrong stereotype indicators about mental disorders and students do not skip the chaining stage in searching for information on prevention of mental disorders.
