Abstract

The Open Defecation Free (ODF) acceleration program campaign is an effort to eliminate open defecation by promoting the use of proper latrines and complying with sanitation regulations. The purpose of this research is to explain the implementation of campaign management carried out by the Wonosobo Health Office's Open Defecation Free (ODF) campaign to increase public awareness. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques using interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The results of this research show that the implementation of the program is in accordance with campaign management theory. Sanitarian reports and field surveys identified problems during the planning phase. The strategy used was to build commitment and collaboration and utilize conventional and new media as information dissemination channels. The program was implemented by delivering messages about the adverse impacts of open defecation delivered by individuals with expertise and power. WhatsApp technology was utilized as a monitoring and reporting medium. Evaluation is carried out through coordination meetings and monitoring to assess the extent to which the program is running. However, further efforts are needed to overcome barriers and increase community participation to improve sanitation awareness and quality of life in Wonosobo. Through the Open Defecation Free (ODF) acceleration program, public awareness of sanitation and stopping open defecation has increased significantly.
