Abstract
This research is motivated by the importance of stimulating children's cognitive and social abilities from an early age as one of the preparation requirements for entering the next level of education. Cognitive abilities are the ability to think logically and critically in the process of solving problems that a child is facing. Meanwhile, social skills are a child's ability to adapt to the surrounding environment and peers. Social skills are important to stimulate from an early age. In stimulating cognitive and social abilities, there needs to be teacher cooperation and the application of interesting learning models so that learning feels fun. One learning model that can be applied that involves daily activities is the cooperative learning make a match learning model. This research aims to: 1) identify the cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years at Al Islam Giwangan Kindergarten; 2) identify the social abilities of children aged 5-6 years at Al Islam Giwangan Kindergarten; 3) identifying the cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years after implementing the make a match learning model at Al Islam Giwangan Kindergarten; 4) identify the social abilities of children aged 5-6 years after implementing the make a match learning model at Al Islam Giwangan Kindergarten. The type of research used is quantitative with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design research design. The sample in this study consisted of 18 children aged 5-6 years at Al Islam Giwangan Kindergarten. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis used was the normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test using the Wilcoxon test. Based on the research results, it is known that there is an increase in cognitive and social abilities in children after implementing the cooperative learning make a match learning model. Results of pretest data analysis after applying the make a match cooperative learning model using the Wilcoxon Sigend Rank test. The asymptotic value of sig (2-tailed) for the two-tailed test is 005 because sig < 0.005 indicates that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that the cooperative learning make a match learning model is effective in improving the cognitive and social abilities of children aged 5-6 years. Based on the description of the N-Gain Test in improving cognitive abilities in the experimental group of children, a score of 56.71% was obtained, meaning that the make a match cooperative learning model was quite effective, while for social abilities, a score of 75.65 was obtained, meaning that the cooperative learning model was implemented. make a match is quite effective in improving children's social skills.
