Abstract

In modern civilization, buying and selling activities are now carried out more practically and easily because they are done online without having to come to a place. Not only in buying and selling goods, but buying and selling nowadays is more varied, one of which is buying and selling followers, especially on Instagram, generally this buying and selling is done to increase a business account so that it looks big, because when buying something on social media consumers see how many followers of the business account. In this practice of buying and selling followers, quite a few people also buy followers for personal needs to look cooler and be proud of the large number of followers, from thousands or even tens of thousands. In fact, in the practice of buying and selling followers, there are many things that follower buyers need to consider, such as whether the purchased account will not last, the consequences of the account being banned, and the loss of the funds we spend being wasted. The type of research used in this research is field research, namely qualitative research by observing the practice of buying and selling followers on Instagram and collecting data by conducting interviews with several consumers in the buying and selling activities of followers. This interview was conducted to ascertain whether in buying and selling activities followers have fulfilled their rights as consumers and the obligations of a business actor. The nature of this research is descriptive analysis to draw conclusions about whether the practice of buying and selling followers does not cause harm to any party and whether it is in accordance with statutory regulations and provisions of Islamic law. Based on the approach that the authors used, namely Fatwa DSN-MUI 43/DSN-MUI/VIII/2004 concerning compensation and the Consumer Protection Law No. 08 of 1999, it can be concluded that the activity of buying and selling followers is not in accordance with the provisions and rights of a person. consumers, and in this buying and selling practice consumers are greatly disadvantaged because they cannot take their rights as they should.
