This research discusses the role of bookstores in developing literacy in the era of generation Z, a case study at Akik Bookstore. The purpose of this research is to find out how the role of Akik Bookstore is in developing literacy, the obstacles faced and the solutions offered, as well as the impact of the generation Z literacy development program. The type of research used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. In this study, data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The data validity test was carried out with credibility (source triangulation, method triangulation, member check) and data analysis techniques including data reduction, presentation of conclusions. The results of this study indicate that: Toko Buku Akik has a significant role in developing literacy in the generation Z era. There are seven roles of Toko Buku Akik such as organizing reading houses, a forum for generation Z creativity, literacy socialization through social media, public discussions, literacy development through empowering eight literacy models, Girls Day Out, and Blind Date with a Book. In the process of running the literacy development program, the impact of this program on generation Z is to facilitate access to reading and creativity.
