Abstract

The role of religious leaders in developing da'wah in the community is very important. Especially to see and determine the most appropriate strategy that can be used as a way to proselytize. Through the art of Thoklik which is used as a medium and approach to da'wah in Mojosari hamlet, Gunungkidul Regency, this research aims to see and explore the role of religious leaders in their duties to carry out this da'wah. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with a descriptive research approach that uses phenomenological studies. Data in the study were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. While data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, presenting data, summarizing data and verification. Interviews were addressed to religious leaders, Thoklik art actors, and the community.
