Abstract
Poverty is a major problem faced by all provinces in Indonesia. Yogyakarta Special Region is a province with abundant natural resources, a student city, and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Indonesia. However, in recent years, Yogyakarta Special Region is the poorest province among the five provinces in Java. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of population, human development index, and district/city minimum wage on the poverty rate in Yogyakarta Special Region Province in 2015-2022. This quantitative research uses secondary data from the official website of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The type of data used is panel data through the Random Effect Model (REM) approach. The results of this study indicate that population has a positive and significant effect, the human development index has a negative and significant effect, while the city / district minimum wage has no effect and is not significant. The results of the simultaneous test all variables have an effect and are significant on the poverty rate in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province in 2015-2022
