Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of intellectual capital and good corporate governance on maqashid sharia performance at Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia. Intellectual capital uses three components in the form of capital employed, human capital, and structural capital. While good corporate governance is proxied by SSB size, SSB education level, SSB cross-membership, the number of commissioners, and the proportion of independent commissioners. This study uses secondary data in the form of annual financial reports obtained from the official websites of 16 Islamic banks in Indonesia for the period 2018- 2022. The sample selection method by making the entire population into a sample so that 71 samples are obtained. The results of this study indicate that human capital and SSB cross-membership have a significant positive effect on maqashid sharia performance. SSB size has a significant negative effect on maqashid sharia performance. While the capital employed, structural capital, SSB education level, number of commissioners, and proportion of independent commissioners have no effect on maqashid sharia performance.
