Abstract

The college years are one of the phases filled with many challenges. During this phase, students will rely on themselves to face various challenges, which can sometimes lead to anxiety, stress, and even depression, ultimately affecting their life satisfaction. Life satisfaction is a subjective evaluation made by individuals about their own lives. This study aims to examine the relationship between secure parental attachment and sibling relationships on life satisfaction among college students. The research method used is quantitative correlational with three modified research scales: life satisfaction with a reliability value 0.890, secure parental attachment scale with a reliability value 0.945, and sibling relationship scale with a reliability value 0.754. The data collection technique employed accidental sampling, with a total of 396 participants from Yogyakarta. The analysis was conducted using multiple regression correlation analysis with SPSS 27 for Windows. The results indicate a relationship between secure parental attachment and sibling relationships on life satisfaction with a significance value of 0.000. The partial test results for secure parental attachment show a positive relationship with life satisfaction, with a significance value of 0.000. Similarly, sibling relationships also show a positive relationship with life satisfaction, with a significance value of 0.000. The contribution of secure parental attachment and sibling relationships to life satisfaction in this study is 27.3% (R2 = 0.274)
