Abstract

Basically, one of the developmental tasks of adolescence is social maturity, in which they are able to understand and behave responsibly in accordance with applicable norms and values. However, in reality this is not the case. The purpose of this the research is to determine the relationship between career orientation and juvenile delinquency with authoritarian parenting as a mediator variable. This study used quantitative research method with a sample of 147 students. The samplling technique used the purposive sampling technique, with data collection in this research used the juvenile delinquency scale, career orientation scale and authoritarian parenting scale. Data analysis technique in this study used multiple linear regression model in SPSS. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence between career orientation and authoritarian parenting patterns on juvenile delinquency in SMKN students in Regency, with a value of p = 0.031 (p<0.05) and a determination coefficient of 3.4% in predicting juvenile delinquency. With the level of career orientation in SMKN students in Regency is in the moderate category, the level of authoritarian parenting patterns in SMKN students in Regency is in the high category and the level of juvenile delinquency in SMKN students in Regency is in the moderate category
