Abstract

Community participation and development are two inseparable things. Effective persuasive communication is needed to achieve maximum participation. The low level of community participation at the beginning of the Aryakibansland tourism development in Majalengka was caused by the ineffectiveness of persuasive communication techniques by the Majalengka River Concern Community Group. This research aims to analyze the persuasive communication techniques used by the River Care Community (MPS) in increasing community participation in the development of Aryakibansland. The methodology used is qualitative research which collects data through interviews, observation, documentation and literature study, as well as test the validity of the data using triangulation. The research results show that MPS applies the Association Technique, Integration Technique, Arrangement Technique, Red Herring Technique, and Reward Technique. These techniques have succeeded in increasing community participation in the form of thoughts, power, thoughts and power, as well as goods, but not skills and money.
