Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher's interest for the following reasons: first, previously the madrasah diniyyah at the Al-Imdad II Islamic boarding school was implemented with a pesantren curriculum, but in its implementation it did not run well, due to the lack of human resources that were not balanced with the large number of students. Second, the Al-Imdad II Islamic boarding school organizes learning of classical books or yellow books, its dynamics in implementing yellow book learning, and its compromises with several pesantren policies and regulations for the sake of maximizing the curriculum made by the madrasah diniyyah. This study is a scientific effort to describe the madrasah diniyah curriculum in learning yellow books at the Al-Imdad II Bantul Islamic Boarding School. This study aims to determine whether the learning of yellow books at the Al-Imdad II Bantul Islamic Boarding School has run optimally as expected. The method in this study uses a descriptive qualitative study. The selection of this method will make it easier to understand the data presentation that has been explained because it is arranged accurately and systematically. The data collection for this study uses interview, observation and documentation techniques. After that, the data that has been collected is analyzed with the stages of data reduction, data presentation and the last is verification or drawing conclusions. The results or findings in this study are: 1) Curriculum planning is designed together at the beginning of the school year, involving the director of education at the Al-Imdad Islamic Boarding School, the head of the madrasah, and the deputy head of the curriculum section. The curriculum used is a self-made curriculum (local) and also refers to the curriculum of the Ministry of Religion. 2) The organization or division of the curriculum is implemented according to the planning that has been made, with grouping adjusted to the abilities of the students. For new students, an academic test is made first, then the class division is adjusted according to the test results obtained. 3) The implementation of the curriculum is carried out by all academicians of the Islamic boarding school, starting from teachers to students. The implementation of learning is made a system for one semester, at the end of the semester there is a class promotion. The system created is not the same as the class promotion for one year in general. The learning hours of the Islamic boarding school are 3 hours a day. In one semester there are an average of 20 to 40 meetings, adjusting to the needs of each class. 4) Evaluation or monitoring of the curriculum is carried out at the end of the semester and or carried out at least once a month to find out how far the development of learning has been carried out, both in relation to students, teachers and or the material taught.
