Abstract

This research is motivated by the current transformation of the education system in Indonesia towards the digital era. MAN 2 Kota Madiun, as an educational institution, is striving to enhance the quality of its educational services through the utilization of information technology. One of the key efforts is the implementation of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) as a data management platform designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data management and support data-driven decision-making. The objectives of this study are: 1) To explain the implementation of the Education Management Information System in supporting decision-making at MAN 2 Kota Madiun for the 2023-2024 academic year. 2) To identify the factors influencing the implementation of the Education Management Information System in the decision-making process at MAN 2 Kota Madiun for the 2023-2024 academic year. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involves data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The subjects of this study are selected using non-probability sampling techniques with purposive sampling, including the Acting Head of Madrasah, the Madrasah Operator, and the Head of Administration. Data analysis is carried out through data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity is ensured through technique triangulation and source triangulation. The findings of the study indicate that: 1) The implementation of EMIS to support decision-making at MAN 2 Kota Madiun for the 2023-2024 academic year involves several stages: problem identification, data or information collection, alternative evaluation, decision-making, and post-decision activities. This process is applied in various problem-solving tasks such as creating student reports, student transfers, BOS fund allocation, and diploma blank creation. 2) Supporting factors for the smooth operation of the EMIS application include: operator performance, network signal strength on the EMIS server, adequate equipment, and targeted data submission. Hindering factors include: server errors, inadequate equipment, delays in student data collection, and lack of coordination among leading sectors.
