Abstract
This research starts from the problem of religious diversity which often causes conflict in Indonesian society. Schools are a reflection of students' interactions in society, including SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta. The aim of this research is to describe the cultivation of pluralist values in forming religious tolerance at SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta which contains pluralist values, methods for instilling pluralist values and the role of cultivating pluralist values in forming religious tolerance at SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta.This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach, namely research that maximizes informants as research subjects. The sources of information in this research are the School Principal, Guidance Counseling Teacher, Islamic Religious Education Teacher, Catholic Religious Education Teacher, and Students. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, participant observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out using data collection, data reduction, data presentation and data conclusion. The findings in this research show that the values of pluralism that are instilled in SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta include the value of justice, democratic values, the value of equality, the value of brotherhood, the value of humanity, the value of tolerance, the value of cultural acculturation. Instilling the value of pluralism in SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta through educational curriculum and hidden curriculum. The educational curriculum includes academic learning, extracurricular activities and MPLS. The hidden curriculum includes example, habituation and supervision. The role of instilling the value of pluralism in forming diverse tolerance is divided into two, namely active tolerance and passive tolerance. Religious tolerance among students includes an attitude of peace, respect for others and oneself, and awareness of diversity.
