Abstract

This research aims to: 1) Examine and identify the Islamic educational values contained in the novel Alfu Lailah wa Lailah. 2) Explain the relevance of Islamic educational values in the novel Alfu Lailah wa Lailah to the Islamic Education (PAI) materials at the upper secondary level. This research is a library study using a hermeneutic approach. The data collection technique used is document study. The data analysis technique is content analysis. The results of this study are: 1) The novel Alfu Lailah wa Lailah is a literary work rich in Islamic educational values, including: I'tiqadiyah values (faith), which cover belief in Allah, belief in angels, belief in Allah’s scriptures, belief in prophets and messengers, belief in the Day of Judgment, and belief in divine decree (qada’ and qadar). The khuluqiyah values include ethics towards Allah SWT, the Prophet Muhammad SAW, oneself, family, society, and the state. The amaliyah values encompass worship and social transactions (muamalah). 2) The Islamic educational values in the novel Alfu Lailah wa Lailah are relevant to the Islamic Education and Ethics curriculum for Class X, including Chapter 1 on Achieving Success through Competence in Goodness and Work Ethic, Chapter 2 on Understanding and Realizing Monotheism and the Branches of Faith, Chapter 3 on Living a Useful Life by Avoiding Extravagance, Hypocrisy, Arrogance, and Envy, Chapter 6 on Avoiding Free Socializing and Adultery to Protect Human Dignity, Chapter 7 on the Essence of Loving Allah SWT., Fear (khauf), Hope (raja’), and Trust (tawakkal), Chapter 8 on Avoiding Negative Traits and Practicing Good Character for a Comfortable and Blessed Life, Chapter 9 on Applying the Five Universal Principles (al-Kulliyat al-Khamsah) in Daily Life. For Class XI, it includes Chapter 2 on Proof of Faith: Keeping Promises, Showing Gratitude, Guarding Speech, and Covering Others’ Faults, Chapter 3 on Avoiding Student Fights, Alcohol, and Drugs, Chapter 7 on Strengthening Faith by Maintaining Honor, Sincerity, Modesty, and Asceticism (zuhud), and Chapter 9 on Marriage Regulations in Islam. For Class XII, it includes Chapter 1 on Patience in Facing Calamities and Tests, Chapter 2 on The Beauty of a Meaningful Life (The Essence of Faith, Islam, and Ihsan), and Chapter 3 on Hypocrisy and Hardheartedness as Obstacles to Progress.
