Abstract

Jomblang Cave is a tourism destination in the Special Region of Yogyakarta in Gunung Kidul which offers natural cave tourism. The beauty of Jomblang Cave is often called "The Light of Heaven" so many local and foreign tourists are curious to visit it. In Law no. 10 of 2009 and Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Regulation no. 4 of 2021 concerning Tourism, namely that every tourist has human rights when traveling and every tourism must have risk standards. The implementation of K3 is really needed in tourism to protect tourists and staff in reducing and preventing work accidents. This research analyzes the potential dangers that may occur in Jomblang Cave tourism using the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control (HIRADC) method to identify hazards, assess risks, and determine risk controls. The research results showed that there were 7 Jomblang Cave tourism activities, namely 5 low risk categories (Low Risk) and 2 moderate risk categories (Moderate Risk). The moderate risk activities include preparation for setting down and ascending equipment as well as cave exploration. The potential dangers posed are slipping, falling, bumping, rotating ropes, technical hazards, gas poisoning, cave wall collapses, getting lost, cold and bites from wild animals. Possible risks include bruising, vomiting, headaches, broken bones and death. In addition, the risk control hierarchy is applied in research as accident prevention, namely elimination, substitution, technical engineering, administration, and personal protective equipment.
