Abstract

The distribution of zakat is often faced with challenges in maintaining transparency and accountability, causing public doubts about the management of zakat funds. The purpose of the study is to determine the effectiveness of the Kitabisa platform in managing zakat to improve social welfare and understand the legality according to Islamic law. This type of research uses the library method (library research), library research is research conducted only based on written works, including research results both published and unpublished. This theory uses legal effectiveness, zakat and maslahah mursalah. The results showed that the Kitabisa platform has facilitated the distribution of zakat in a transparent and efficient manner, and contributed to improving the social welfare of the community. However, there are still challenges in terms of community acceptance, especially in areas with limited access. Kitabisa has great potential to become an effective and trusted zakat platform, and contribute to realising prosperity. The collection of zakat through the Kitabisa application has fulfilled most of the legal requirements according to Islamic law, but there are shortcomings in the data collection of the muzakki's religion, which could potentially cause the funds collected to not be fully considered as zakat if given by non-Muslims. Through the distribution of zakat, Kitabisa demonstrates transparency and accountability by working with authorised amil zakat institutions to distribute funds to the rightful according to Islamic provisions.
