Abstract

This research aims to understand the resilience process in indigo individuals in Yogyakarta. In this research, the researcher employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data collection methods used by the researcher are semi-structured interviews and observation. The study involves three informants with indigo backgrounds. The findings indicate that the resilience process for indigo individuals involves a combination of self-acceptance, social support, and effective coping strategies. Through self-acceptance and social support, as well as adaptation to their indigo abilities, the three informants have successfully navigated challenges and found positive meanings in their lives. Factors influencing resilience include external factors such as social support, social environment, experiences, and employment, as well as internal factors such as self-acceptance, intrinsic motivation, and a proactive attitude towards challenges. Positive meanings gained from the resilience process include increased maturity, gratitude, self-confidence, patience, and emotional maturity. These individuals are also able to view various aspects of events from multiple perspectives, remain true to themselves, strengthen their mental resilience, and achieve a deeper acceptance of their indigo abilities.
