Abstract

Intimacy is an important task in early adulthood. The level of intimacy that individuals have influences psychological, physical and social aspects. Intimacy can be realized with the ability to build good relationships with the opposite sex. Early adult women's ability to interact positively with the opposite sex is determined by the father's involvement in parenting. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the increasing divorce rate in Indonesia, many children have lost their father figures. On this basis, this research was conducted with the aim of finding out the picture of intimacy towards husbands in early adult women who have lost their father figure. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. This research involved three informants who were selected using a snowball sampling technique with the criteria being that women were aged 18-40 years and were married, the maximum length of marriage was 10 years, and the father died or the parents divorced when the informant was 3-13 years old. Interview and observation techniques were used to collect data. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results found that intimacy is shown in the form of warm communication, openness and honesty in communication, comfort in physical proximity, and understanding.
