Abstract

Petir Village is located in Rongkop District, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Province and is one of the villages that still has a strong social concern. The community in Petir Village has a family resilience system in marriages of people with mental disorders (ODGJ), namely a male and female couple, one of whom has a mental disorder from after marriage until they have children. The system of family resilience in the marriage of one of the couples with mental disorders in Petir Village is maintained by the community and their families until old age. Talking about family resilience in the marriage of one of the couples with mental disorders, the first thing that comes to mind is what are the supporting factors for family resilience in ODGJ couples, and how to form family resilience in one of the couples with mental disorders. This type of research is field research with a field approach. The data analysis method used is qualitative analysis using an inductive and deductive thinking framework, and data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that family resilience in one of the couples with mental disorders in Petir Village, Rongkop District, Gunungkidul Regency is based on the strength of family resilience and wants to make the marriage aim for sakinah. The rules that apply to society are mutual cooperation to help people with mental disorders and care. In the expression of society there is a vision and mission, namely humanizing humans by not leaving people who are having difficulties that have existed since 2015. The basis for the existence of family resilience is structural functional, social conflict, symbolic interaction, and social exchange. This is evidenced by the dependence of people with mental disorders, and the need for attention from the closest family, society and government. According to the Family Resilience Theory, physical economic resilience, social resilience and psychological resilience must be interconnected and inseparable. The interaction between the two partners, one of whom has a mental disorder, and its relationship to economic resilience, such as food, education, health and housing in aspects of the social life of society. The behavior of society that supports flexibility or changes, also makes family resilience unable to be conveyed. Family resilience can provide time for families with mental disorders to unite themselves, and prepare themselves emotionally to face all the risks that occur in marriage. Because the welfare of the two brides, one of whom has ODGJ in determining attitudes is considered more important in this case.
