Abstract
In the internet world, the internet users get too much information (information overload), therefore filtering the information (information filtering) is very helpful task to the internet users in finding information quickly and effectively in the virtual world. It also happens in the library, the users get a lot of information about book title, and the information overload will confuse the users when they select a book. This research uses sample of transactions data in borrowing book in the library of State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga, and the sample users are college students at the Faculty of Saintek in State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga. In this system, research using collaborative filtering method. This method use opinion from a user community to help an individual from the community to identify interesting items from a choices confusing items. This method is very suitable applied in providing recommendation the book title and book rating based on the user profile. This system will show the titles with rating from highest to lowest. This book recommender system provides a new solution of book title in accordance with the user profile. This system is very useful because it helps the user to filter information about book title. It also useful for new students who need information about books that useful for learning activities on campus.
