Abstract

This research delves into the concept of divinity in the thoughts of Mansur Al-Hallaj, a controversial figure in Islamic history. The study investigates how Al-Hallaj's concept of divinity challenged social norms and religious authority in medieval Islamic society, and the consequences of his radical expression of divine unity on social cohesion and order. Additionally, it explores the socio-political tensions and conflicts arising from Al-Hallaj's challenge to religious orthodoxy and the implications of his teachings on the relationship between individuals and God. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, this research provides a comprehensive exploration of the concept of divinity in the thoughts of Husain Ibn Mansur Al-Hallaj. Using Max Weber's conflict theory as an interpretative approach, the study aims to understand and analyze Al-Hallaj's concept of divinity as conveyed in his works and how these concepts shaped social paradigms within society.
