Abstract
Self-regulated learning has an important role in the educational process because it allows students to control their own learning, set goals, and develop strategies for self-improvement, which leads to better academic achievement and study skills. This study aims to evaluate the effect of POE-inkuiri learning model in physics subjects in class XI MIPA. This research has four main objectives, namely: (1) To determine whether there is an effect of the application of POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) inkuiri model on physics learning outcomes of grade XI students (2) to determine whether there is an increase in student physics learning outcomes after taking part in learning with POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) inkuiri model (3) to determine whether there is an effect of the application of POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) inkuiri model on self-regulated learning (SRL) of grade XI students, and (4) follow whether there is an increase in students' self-regulated learning (SRL) after participating in learning with the POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) inkuiri model. The method used in this research is quasi-experiment research with a pretest-posttest design, Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This study used two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The instruments used in this study were pretest-posttest questions in the form of multiple choice questions as many as 15 items, SRL questionnaires before and after, and observation sheets. Data analysis techniques involved parametric tests for student SRL ability data and non-parametric tests for student learning outcomes data. The results showed that the average value of students' physics learning outcomes before the intervention (pretest) was 48.92, while after the intervention (posttest) increased to 86.22, with an increase of 37.3 points. Analysis using Mann-Whitney U test showed a significant effect of POE model on students' physics learning outcomes (p-value = 0.000 <0.05). The level of students' self-regulated learning (SRL) also increased significantly. Before the intervention, the average SRL of students was 83.74 with the category 'Moderate'. After the intervention, the mean value increased to 98.48 with the 'High' category, recording an increase of 14.74 points. Testing using Independent Sample t-Test showed that the effect of the POE model on improving students' SRL ability was also significant (Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.001 < 0.05). This finding indicates that the POE inkuiri model is effective in improving physics learning outcomes and metacognitive skills of students at MAN 4 Bantul.
