Abstract

Learning interest plays an important role so that students are interested and active in the learning process, so that the material is easier to understand and master, which ultimately improves student learning outcomes. However, in the subject of fiqh on the mawaris material in class XI IPS MAN 1 Indragiri Hilir, students are less interested in the mawaris material because students feel bored and have difficulty mastering the extensive mawaris material, calculating inheritance divisions, and determining heirs who are entitled and veiled. In addition, in learning mawaris, the teaching materials used are still less varied, still using printed books and LKS containing questions that seem monotonous and textbook-like, and there has been no use of varied teaching materials. This is what makes it necessary to develop interesting teaching materials that can help to improve student interest and learning outcomes. This study aims to: (1) Determine the development of mind mapping-based teaching materials to increase interest and learning outcomes in the Mawaris material in class XI MAN 1 Indragiri Hilir, (2) Determine the feasibility of mind mapping-based teaching materials to increase interest and learning outcomes in the Mawaris material in class XI MAN 1 Indragiri Hilir. (3) Determine the effectiveness of mind mapping-based teaching materials to increase interest and learning outcomes in the Mawaris material in class XI MAN 1 Indragiri Hilir. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study conducted to produce mind mapping-based teaching materials. The location of the research is at MAN 1 Indragiri Hilir. The research was conducted in class XI with 32 students as the experimental class and 32 students as the control class. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used were product feasibility analysis, teacher response analysis, independent sample t-test analysis on student interest questionnaires, Mann-Whitney analysis test on pre-test and post-test questions, and N-gain test. The results of the study indicate that: (1) Mind mapping-based teaching materials developed using the Borg and Gall model modified by Sugiyono by limiting it to seven steps, namely: potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, and product revision. (2) Mind mapping-based teaching materials developed are suitable for use in learning with design validation results getting a score of 96% (very good), material validation with a score of 90.6% (very good), and teacher response with a score of 87.7% (very good). (2) Mind mapping-based teaching materials are effective in increasing interest and learning outcomes in Mawaris material. Judging from the results of the learning interest hypothesis test using the independent sample t-test with p .001 < 0.05 and the results of the N-gain test with a score of 0.725>0.7 are included in the high category. While the results of the learning outcome hypothesis test using the Mann-Whitney test with p 0.002<0.05 and the results of the N-gain test with a score of 0.725 > 0.7 are included in the high category. so that mind mapping-based teaching materials are effective in increasing students' interest and learning outcomes. Mind mapping-based teaching materials can be used in Mawaris materials and can be used as media that can increase students' interest and learning outcomes.
