Abstract

This study examines the thoughts of religious figures regarding religious moderation. Religious moderation aims to reduce radicalism or extremism towards religion, beliefs or understandings that can cause conflict due to the wide diversity of Indonesian society - by building moral values in the form of tolerant attitudes, respecting diversity, respect and recognition of diversity. This study examines the thoughts of Husein Ja'far Al-Hadar regarding the instillation of religious moderation attitudes. Religious figures play a very important role in fostering religious moderation. Religious figures play a role in conveying understanding to the community about the importance of being moderate. This type of research is qualitative research with library research, using an interpretive approach. The data collection method uses documentation techniques. The data sources in this study consist of primary data sources in the form of Husein Ja'far Al-Hadar's works, namely a book entitled Tuhan Ada di Hatimu and the book Seni Merayu Tuhan, as well as Youtube broadcasts of the Login season 1 and season 2 totaling 60 episodes. Secondary data sources are in the form of digital traces of Husein Ja'far Al-Hadar's preaching on other people's Youtube channels that are relevant to the research theme. The validity test of the data uses contingency techniques, while data analysis uses content analysis techniques. The results of this study are: 1) Religious moderation in Indonesia is quite good. This condition must continue to be maintained, preserved and ensured its permanence. Maintaining religious moderation in Indonesia can be done through the preaching of religious figures. As a multicultural country, Husein Ja'far invites the Indonesian people to be accommodating to local culture, to be tolerant and to be anti-radicalism and violence. 2) The concept of religious moderation according to Husein Ja'far is to moderate religious people by actualizing the values of religious teachings. Religious moderation focuses on things that can unite, namely the common good on the humanitarian side. 3) The attitude of religious moderation from Husein Ja'far's perspective is based on the principles of religious moderation, namely: i'tidal (straight and firm), tawassuth (taking the middle path), tawazun (balanced), and tolerance. As for how to instill an attitude of religious moderation, it can be done by increasing knowledge of religious moderation, and attempted in the form of action. Through knowledge of religious moderation, we can improve our mindset in viewing differences.
