Abstract

Indonesia as a tropical region has a high diversity of Pteridophyta. Many Pteridophyta live in humid areas or tropical climates, one of which is the Petungkriyono Forest. The role of Pteridophyta includes as a food source, ornamental plant, constituent of forest ecosystems, and environmental bioindicator. Research on Pteridophyta in the Petungkriyono Forest is still limited to epiphytic Pteridophyta based on morphological characters studied by Lestari et al., (2019) at 3 stations, namely mixed forests, pine forests and coffee plantations. The aim of this research is to record and study the relationship between Pteridophyta in the Petungkriyono Forest based on morphological and palynological characters at 3 stations, namely forest, agroforest and tourist attractions. This research was conducted in April-August 2024 using an exploration method with purposive sampling technique and acetolysis technique in making spore preparations. The identification data and environmental factors obtained were analyzed qualitatively descriptively and the kinship relationship data were analyzed using MVSP 3.2 with the UPGMA method. The research results obtained 18 species from 6 families with a kinship similarity index of 57%, which means they are classified as closely related. The grouping results were divided into two main clusters, namely group A, characteristic of monolet type spores, totaling 13 species and group B, characteristic of trilet type spores, totaling 5 species. The results of this research can be concluded that the 18 species of Pteridophyta in the Petungkriyono Forest are diverse and closely related.
