Abstract

The research was conducted to determine disaster management efforts in protecting archives at the lamongan archives and library institution. This research was used descriptive qualitative aprroach that aims to present a description about disaster management effort in protecting archive at the Lamongan Archives and library institution. The results of this research show that there are two stages in the disaster management process in protecting archives in the Lamongan archives and library institution. The first is the pre-disaster stage, which are actions taken before a disaster occurs or can be called preparatory actions. The second is the emergency response stage, which are actions taken when a disaster is occurring or has just finished to take quick and appropriate action on affected archives. The results of the research also show that there are several obstacles in implementing disaster management activities in archival protection in the Lamongan archives and library institution. This is caused by several things such as; funding sources, human resources, and miscommunication.
