Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out and describe the self-adjustment of adolescents who marry accidentally, both the efforts to achieve everything for their own benefit and the efforts made to adapt themselves to other people. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, case study method at KUA Kapanewon Sewon. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 4 married teenagers aged 15-19 years who were married by accident. The data analysis technique uses data reduction steps, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Test the validity of the data using source triangulation and data triangulation. The research findings reveal three factors in the process of self-adjustment: motivation, attitude toward reality, and basic adjustment patterns. Motivation plays a crucial role in helping individuals determine the quality of their response to self-adjustment. The attitude toward reality and decision-making are key in determining the quality of self-adjustment, while basic adjustment patterns help individuals cope with tension and frustration. There are seven basic patterns of self-adjustment: absence of excessive emotions, absence of psychological mechanisms, absence of personal frustration, rational consideration and self-direction ability, ability to learn, ability to use past experiences, and a realistic and objective attitude. The study shows that the four subjects experienced what they referred to as a stressful period, during which they felt ashamed, afraid, and confused. Additionally, all four subjects considered the possibility of abortion. AK, CA, SA, and FN also lost their adolescence, which they should have spent with their peers. This was mitigated by the support provided by their families and close friends.
